It’s a warm, wet Monday in Philadelphia and I sit here pounding through some of my Fandom Gives Back pieces. I auctioned off 190,000 words for Alex’s Lemonade Stand; I have 177,000 left to write. I guess I should get on that.

I’m frequently asked about my update schedule for Counterpoint and Some Little Girls. I laugh because I don’t really have one. I will say that I like to update Counterpoint on Thursdays, and barring disaster (or very sick children) lately I’ve been succeeding at this.

Some Little Girls takes longer for a variety of reasons. Even women without mommy issues frequently develop them when they become mothers themselves. Accurate portrayal of this is rare in fiction and almost never seen in fic, and this is what I strive to do. I tend to sit on chapters for weeks to make sure they convey everything I need them to. I’m hoping for an update every week or so; but I doubt I’m capable of that. So, you’ll probably get Counterpoint on Thursday and maybe an outtake or two for FGB this week as well. I am—as always—working on it.

Meanwhile, I’d like to congratulate my good friend VivaViva on her Indy Award win. Her story Six Silent Goodbyes won a judges special merit award.

Raining today but at least we will have nice weather by the weekend. I think you do a fabulous job with updating. I love both stories and get all giddy when I see my email that you have updated!

I've said it before and I'll say it again — I don't know how you write as much as you do! I really appreciate that you update frequently, but if real life gets in the way or you get burnt out or whatever I'll still read. Some Little Girls hits very close to home and I appreciate the time that you are taking to get it right. Thank you!
