I stop when I hear Esme and Edward’s muffled voices.
“You promised me if I didn’t…that you wouldn’t…” She pauses to blow her nose. “I just want you to be happy.”
“That won’t happen as long as I’m stuck here, and you know I can’t go back,” he says.
“All because of me.”
“Look at me, Esme…no.”
As much as I need my phone, I don’t need Esme to see me here and think I came with the express purpose of eavesdropping. Why doesn’t she have a butler like the rest of the Royal Family?
