“Don’t be nervous. We don’t have to do anything more than you usually do.”

“This is already more than I usually do,” I admit.

“Would it make you feel better to know this is more than I’ve ever done? At least, it is without having—”

“An NDA.” I roll my eyes. “I know.”

“That, too, but I was talking about a signed consent form.”

“Consent for what?”

“This…” He traces my nipple with his thumb. “…as well as anything it leads to. The NDA is one thing, but I’m going to have to insist on the consent form. Obviously, I don’t have the necessary paperwork with me right now, but I’ll have it drawn up and messengered over to your office Monday morning.”

I stare at him in disbelief. “You’re joking, right?”

“Shit, that’s right.” He sighs. “I forgot that you weren’t sure if you could trust Heidi. In that case, it would probably be better from a discretion standpoint if you signed them the next time you were in the Palace.”

I study his face for any evidence he’s kidding. There is none.

unbeta’d, subject to change, usual stuff.
