Not only is she letting Edward know that she did all the work necessary to change, but she is also crediting the help she received from her friends in doing so and telling him that he has full access to the product of all that hard work. It seems that Edward is much more open to the re-establishment of their romantic relationship, but, sadly, I can't remember how Bella was feeling at this point. I always felt that your Edward would have been the template for Mrs. Meyer's Edward had he been contemporary and, you know, non-vampiric.
